Hello I'm Makulina

I’ve been creating dolls for a number years now and am lucky enough to sell them all over the world. Here's my story ... I started my career working in advertising and eventually, I started my own agency. It was fast paced with long hours, and I was constantly stressed! When my two daughters were born and I had to find a way to balance having a job and be present in my children's upbringing. While on maternity, I decided to create something for my daughters. I wanted to make something that could become a memento of their childhood. Thinking back on my own mementos, I only have a rotten old cuddly teddy bear to draw upon!

So I chose to create a doll. After searching, I couldn't find any ready-made dolls that I liked. Most I found were plastic, mass produced and very similar to each other. I wanted to make a doll that was safe, pleasant to touch, yet modern at the same time. I also realised I preferred the Waldorf (also known as Steiner) style of dolls. The doll's appearance is intentionally simple in order to allow children to develop their imagination and creative play

I started sewing in mid-2016, and since 2019 I have been here creating Lullu Dolls. When I started my adventure I didn't think I'd end up sewing dolls for people all over the world. Collectors now ask when I'll make another completely new doll to be able to buy it. It's still a strange dream to me!
